A man from Indiana was sentenced for putting children in danger.
William Jefferson, 49, was found guilty on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was sentenced to between 15 months and three years in state jail. He will also have to serve a year of probation after his release. In April of this year, he said he was guilty of those charges.
On February 25, 2023, Indiana Borough Police were called to do a safety check and that’s when the charges were made. Four kids were left alone while he went to a bar in Johnstown, according to the police. The house was also in terrible shape.
In a statement, Manzi said, “This was not a case where he left to buy food for the kids, work to make money, or get medicine that they needed.” He went off to sit alone in a bar far away.
