A guy from Maui has been found guilty of beating an 11-month-old boy very badly.
In 2021, Christian Rosete, 30, is accused of beating the boy who is the son of Passion Quirk, 26, who used to date him. The baby was taken to the hospital with injuries that could kill him, such as a broken head and bleeding in both eyes and the brain.
Rosete was found guilty on five counts on Monday afternoon. These included first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and abuse of a family or household member.
The jury started to talk about the case on Friday, September 20. Rosete is due back in court on Wednesday, when the jury will decide how to sentence him.
Quirk was initially charged with not telling anyone about Rosete or getting her son medical help, but she agreed to testify against Rosete in exchange for a shorter sentence of 10 years. In October 2024, she will be given her sentence.
