The mother and son were shot and killed while they slept in Mississippi. Angela Holland, 34, and her 11-month-old son Amarus were shot and killed at their home in Greenwood at 1008 Charlie Cooley Avenue early Monday morning.
The mother and son are thought to have been shot through the bedroom window. Terrence Craft, the chief of police in Greenwood, said that Angela and Amarus were both declared dead at 3:41 a.m.
Angela was called “a devoted mother” in the death notice, and Little Amarus was called “a bright and loving young soul whose loss has left an unimaginable void in the lives of all who knew them.”
The death note says, “Angela was known for having a kind heart.” Also, how much she loves her family and how kind she is all the time.
Many people’s lives were changed by her kindness, giving, and warmth. Amarus, her son, was full of life, joy, and wonder.
Amarus was a joy to be around because he loved to travel and explore the world. His smile and sense of humor made his family and friends happy.
“The bond Angela and Amarus shared was a special one, and they will be remembered for the love they radiated and the joy they brought to those fortunate enough to know them.” The plans for the funeral have not been settled yet.
