A woman from the Bronx was arrested by the New York City Police Department in connection with a theft. One 48-year-old woman named Monique Fort was arrested in the 44th Precinct on Tuesday, October 16, 2024, around 10:45 a.m.
Fort, who lives at 880 East 147th Street, was charged with assault in the third degree, big theft in the fourth degree, and robbery in the second degree.
Also, police need help from the public to find someone else who they think is responsible for a theft that happened in the same area last month.
It happened around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. A 7-year-old boy was trying to pay for fruit at a store at 1356 Jerome Avenue when an unknown woman grabbed his money.
When the boy’s 38-year-old mother tried to stop the attacker, she was punched in the face by an unknown woman, who then ran north toward East 170th Street.
At the scene, EMS treated the woman for her wounds. There have been no arrests in this case yet, and the cops need your help to find the suspect.
The NYPD wants anyone who knows anything about what happened to reach out to them.
