According to the MTA, a woman died after being struck by a train in Manhattan on Thursday morning.
According to the FDNY, the incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. near West 145th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The NYPD reported that a 34-year-old woman was struck by a northbound C train.
The police said she was dead at the scene. Authorities say they do not think anyone did anything illegal.
Because of this, the MTA said, the A and C subway lines were late going both ways.
Some A trains going south used the local track from the station at Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets to Euclid Avenue.
Until 8 a.m., C trains went both ways on the express track between 125th Street and 168th Street. The MTA says that some C trains going north also used the express track from Canal Street to 168th Street.
The A and C trains are now stopping at regular times again. Find out more by going to the MTA’s website.
