Wendy Williams’ guardian declared her “permanently incapacitated” in new court documents, less than a year after publicly revealing her dementia and aphasia diagnosis.
Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and her legal team stated in court documents obtained by The Sun that she “has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”
The revelation came amid an ongoing legal battle over the Lifetime documentary Where is Wendy Williams?, which depicted the former TV host struggling with alcoholism, as well as health and financial issues.
Previous court documents claimed that the series exploited Williams and that she was unable to consent due to her medical conditions.
According to the outlet, the new filing requested that information about her “health, familial relationships, and finances” be redacted in order to maintain privacy.
Williams was diagnosed with front temporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia in 2023, and she revealed her medical conditions publicly earlier this year.
