On Friday night, a 64-year-old woman jumped out of a Queens apartment’s third-floor window to escape her knife-wielding son, according to police and sources.
At about 9:15 p.m., the woman was found awake and alert outside of her Astoria apartment on Shore Boulevard near 20th Road.
Police say she is in stable condition at Elmhurst Hospital after being taken there.
Sources say the woman jumped out of the window because her son was threatening her with a knife.
Sources say that when the police arrived, they thought the son had locked himself in the apartment.
But when the police went back hours later, they found the apartment empty.
So far, no one has been caught.
Sources say the son has been arrested more than 30 times before.
