Betting lines, game preview, and prediction for Arkansas vs. Missouri

Last week, Arkansas beat Louisiana Tech to get into a bowl game. However, it has been having a rough go of it lately, losing three of its last four SEC games by more than 10 points.

It did beat Tennessee, though, and is having a good season. With a seventh win, it has a chance to make this a strong run.

Missouri has an 8-3 record, but it is been hard. Being able to beat Oklahoma, a bunch of teams that do not like bowling, and… The Tigers should be able to get to nine wins here, and they might even get to ten wins after the bowls.

Why Arkansas Will Win

Mo.’s offense has been a little off.

The stats were good against Mississippi State (everyone loves the Bulldogs), and the passing game was not bad against South Carolina. But the offensive line did not do much against Oklahoma until the end, and Alabama sacked them.

With quarterback Brady Cook back, things are different, but it will not be easy to keep up in any kind of shootout.

Mizzou is 7-0 when they give up less than 200 passing yards and 1-3 when they give up 200 yards or more.

Arkansas has thrown for 200 yards in all but three of its games, and its ground game has helped it win two of those games.

Why Missouri Will Win

Arkansas still has a problem with turnover. It usually gets past it, but in the last three games it is given it up seven times, and in the last ten games it is given it up an average of two times per game.

Okay, the Hogs should be able to throw well enough to make things tough for the Tigers. But they need to stop the Tigers’ ground attack.

Missouri is 8-1 when they give up less than 236 rushing yards. The Hogs have done a lot of good things this year—every carry gains almost five yards—but they have only gone over 236 against Mississippi State, UAB, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

It looks like there will be some gunfire.

Arkansas will be able to keep up with Missouri because their defense is strong enough to hold up in key spots. The Hogs will not be able to hold up against the Tiger pass rush on third downs.

The game is down to its last possession, so this should be a lot of fun.
