Let us move on from the fact that INDIANA is good at football.
Things are real now; it is going to be in the College Football Playoff and has a chance to win the national title.
Things are good, even though the schedule has not been great (Michigan, Nebraska, and Washington are not good, not IU’s fault). It is here. This is the shot that will really make this stand out.
Ohio State looks like the best team in the country, even though they lost to Oregon 32–31.
You can pick holes in the team’s work, but it is held to a higher standard because it is so good and has everything it needs to win the national title. This week was supposed to be a warm-up for Michigan, but it will be a fight.

Why Indiana Will Win
Along with Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke’s All-Big Ten play, the offense has been great. They have the No. 2 scoring attack in the country (Miami is No. 1), and the defense has been just as great.
IU’s defense is now the best in the country, especially against the run. Head coach Curt Cignetti was able to make it better at James Madison, where it was ranked third in the country in total defense and eighth in the Big Ten in sacks.
There is always more talent at Ohio State, but their offense is taking a beating. It was already in pain when future NFL center Seth McLaughlin hurt his Achilles tendon in practice this week.
The Buckeyes should still be able to hit, but the Hoosiers’ strong run defense should keep them in the game. But…
Why Ohio State Will Win
There is a great defense in Indiana. There is nothing else like Ohio State’s defense.
With NFL players coming back for another year and some new players joining (former Alabama safety Caleb Downs is that good), the defense is No. 2 in the country and No. 1 in scoring defense.
As a fun fact for the week, OSU has only given up more than 17 points twice since 2022, and those times were against Michigan last year and Oregon this season. The defense always steps up when it needs to.
The Indiana offense does a great job of getting players into open space at a steady pace that keeps everyone on their toes. That moves more slowly when defensive backs are fast and good at tackling.
Indiana only had 246 yards of offense against Michigan last week for a reason, and it was…
Indiana vs Ohio State: Who Will Win?
Will Howard.
Fans of Ohio State have been spoiled by its great college quarterbacks over the years. By the way, Kyle McCord is killing it at Syracuse, and Howard is not getting the credit he deserves. This is where it starts.
Everyone only remembers the bad last few minutes of the game against Oregon and not the fact that he threw for 326 yards. He hits 73% of the passes he throws, runs well, and plays like he is been playing for five years and knows what he is doing.
He will be able to handle the pressure from Indiana; it is okay to eat the sack or throw it away now and then. The Ohio State defense will take care of the rest.
