Betting lines, game preview, and prediction for Notre Dame vs. Florida State

In October, Notre Dame had the biggest wins of any team in the country. Now, they are back home for what was supposed to be one of the biggest games of the season.

The Irish do not care that Florida State is having a tough time. If they win this, they will have to quickly play Virginia, Army, and USC in the last three games to make the College Football Playoff.

All of that, though, is what the Seminoles want to happen. During a sad time of year, this would be a great chance to start something new for the future.

Why Florida State Will Win

The Seminoles are not under any pressure at all. There are not many expectations, so they should get smashed. As long as they stay this close, the Irish might start to get tight.

There are a lot of problems in FSU, but things have not been too bad lately.

In last week’s loss to North Carolina, it could not do anything. But in last week’s loss to Miami, it ran 40 times for 162 yards and put up a good fight against Duke.

Why Notre Dame Will Win

Florida State is really that bad.

Again, it’s been able to hold on enough to not get annihilated – at least most of the time – but the points aren’t there. The Seminoles haven’t hit 17 since the 24-21 loss in the opener to Georgia Tech.

The Irish don’t have to get cute here. Florida State is getting killed against the run over the last several weeks, giving up over 200 yards in four of its last five games.

Notre Dame is hitting its stride, averaging six yards per carry with well over 200 yards in four of the last six games after the Northern Illinois debacle.
