Police say they have caught a man who they believe killed his roommate and buried the body in a “makeshift grave.”
Riverside Police said that Bradley Minder, 31, had not been seen or heard from in days and that police were called to the home of Richard Thomas Martinez, 48, on Tuesday evening in California.
Police said that while they were investigating, they found out that one of the roommates had said some scary things about killing his friend.
The 8700 block of Sylvan Drive was searched by detectives, and corpse dogs were called in to help with the investigation.
Soon, they called the police because they had just disturbed the ground in the garden and found dead bodies. Bradley Minder was named as the victim. Cops arrested and booked his roommate, Richard Thomas Martinez, 48, on murder charges.
Police think that the suspect killed Minder and buried him in the garden after the two men got into a fight. However, the officials have not given out any more details. He was taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center and is being held there without bail.
It comes after Michigan police said they officially caught and charged the man who called 911 and told the operators that he killed his wife and threw her body in the trash.
On Tuesday, Jacob Fisher, 38, was charged with open murder in the death of his 29-year-old wife Dainara. On Monday at about 5:30 p.m., someone was shot at a house in the 1200 block of Stover Road in Arenac Township.
He called 911 soon after shooting his wife in the head and admitted to killing her while talking to the operators.
After that, Jacob dragged his dead wife’s body to their garage and threw her in a trash can. Later, Dainara’s body was found in the trash. It had a gunshot wound to the head and was covered in blood.
Investigators say that there were five children in the house at the time of the murder.
After the kids, who were likely very scared, were taken away, the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and an officer from the West Branch Post of the State Police were called in to begin an investigation.
Inside the house, the murder weapon was also found. Cops say it is not clear what the motivation was. After being arraigned, Jacob stayed in jail in Arenac County and was not given bond. He has to go back to court on October 29.
