This round of College Football Playoff rankings did not come as much of a surprise.
The bottom part does not really matter, but where did Alabama and Ole Miss end up? You can guess what the top five are before you look. Is there still a chance for them?
Most likely not, but if things go wrong and big upsets happen, the Tide and Rebels might get close.
Remember that in two weeks, it will ALL be about the final rankings. These are just a few snapshots of the moment; they do not say much for sure. But everything sets the stage for what is to come.
