There are two big decisions to be made here, and if either one is wrong, everything changes.
– The SEC Championship will be Texas vs Texas A&M winner against Georgia. The call for the last nine months still stands – A&M shocks Texas, but loses to Georgia. The committee won’t put in a Texas team that lost to A&M. Will it?
If you flip a coin and say “yes,” Texas gets in at 10-2 because its blowout wins over Florida and Oklahoma look better now. On the other hand, if Texas A&M loses to Georgia, the committee can not say that it should be in with four losses.
– The ACC Championship will be 11-1 Miami vs 11-1 SMU. The winner gets the 3 seed, the loser just barely hangs on to get in.
– The Big Ten Champion will likely get the 1 seed, the loser will get the 5. Ohio State and Oregon will play for the spot, BUT, Ohio State could slide to 6 with a loss.
There’s no reseeding. The 8-9 winner plays the 1, 7-10 winner plays the 2, 6-11 winner plays the 3, and the 5-12 winner plays the 4.
1 vs 8-9 plays the 4 vs 5-12, and 2 vs 7-10 plays 3 vs 6-11.
