At his daughter’s funeral, onlookers were shocked to see her moving her hand eerily inside the coffin. The father, who was heartbroken, told the story.
Cristiano Santos has been sad since what happened with his daughter Kiara Crislayne de Moura dos Santos, who was announced dead but was later seen moving in her grave.
Kiara, who is eight months old, grabbed it tightly when someone touched it. When a neighborhood pharmacist saw this, she checked to see if she was still breathing and quickly called 911.
Kiara was rushed back to the hospital almost 16 hours after doctors first said she was dead, but they said she was no longer alive again. Interestingly, the baby had a pulse and an oxygen saturation level of 84%, which means it needed critical care right away.
However, there were no signs of rigor mortis, which usually shows up in a body six to eight hours after it has died.
Cristiano Santos, her devastated dad, spoke out about his pain: “We were already devastated.” Once there was some hope, but this is what happened in the end.
It happened after Kiara’s body was taken from the Faustino Riscarolli Hospital Foundation in Correia Pinto, in the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil, to the funeral home.
The terrible confusion started at 7 p.m., only 16 hours after doctors first confirmed Kiara’s death, when her parents brought clothes for her to wear in her coffin at the service, according to the Mirror.
In the case that led to an investigation by Brazil’s Scientific Police, the hospital admitted that they declared a child dead 16 hours later when they later found signs of life.
The Correia Pinto City Hall has apologized to Kiara’s family and promised to do a full probe. They say they will have a full report ready in 30 days.
“The Municipality of Correia Pinto reiterates its commitment to provide the best care for all citizens,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
“Under no circumstances can any professional issue certificates or statements without proper authentication of the patient’s condition.
” All health workers are also constantly trained and oriented to make sure that people’s lives and well-being are always the most important thing.
