A bike run on Sunday honored the life of a child who died after choking on a piece of food.
A lot of people showed up to the run, which began at the American Legion post in Uniontown.
People who lost their son Owen Hockenberry want other families to know about a choking gadget called LifeVac that they think could have saved their son’s life.
The boy, who was 6, died on August 22 after choking at a family get-together.
Owen’s family says he loved having fun, and they are grateful for the support of the community.
Two people at the event told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that Owie’s family was grateful for all the help given by others. “This is a good way to remember him,” they said.
The Chubby Hands Foundation will gain from the bike race.
