As Donald Trump continues to put together his cabinet, Vice President-elect JD Vance seems to be angry that Trump seemed to push him to the side. Trump impressed Vance by calling Grace Chong a “imbecile” on X, which used to be Twitter.
Steve Bannon’s pro-Trump podcast “WarRoom” has Chong as its CFO and COO. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Chong said, “You guys better show up and do your one fricken job!!” (via The Independent) He was talking about the Senate vote on President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees. In the post, she named Marco Rubio and JD Vance by name.
On Truth Social, the X clone owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, which is mostly owned by Trump, Trump agreed with Chong.
“The Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door,” he said. “Republican Senators need to Show Up and Hold the Line — No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!”
Vance, who is a Republican senator right now, did not like what Chong said. On X, he yelled at her and called Chong “a mouth-breathing idiot who attacks those of us in the fight rather than making herself useful” (Reuters).
He also wrote, “I tend to think it is more important to get an FBI director who will dismantle the deep state than for Republicans to lose a vote 49-46 rather than 49-45.” This seemed to be a response to Trump.
That is just me, though.” Vance has been searching for a new FBI director with Trump and has not been able to attend recent Senate votes. His tweet has been taken down since then.
Vice President only in name?
Everyone is comparing JD Vance to Melania Trump because of her relationship with Elon Musk and the fact that she was not seen much during Trump’s campaign. There are some signs that Melania will not be going back to the White House with her husband.
In the weeks since the election, Vice President-elect JD Vance has been just as quiet as Elon Musk, who has since joined Trump’s side.
Musk recently went to a meal with Trump on his private plane with Donald Trump Jr., House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running to be Secretary of Health. Don Jr. wrote under the picture on X, “Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW.” Not in the list? JD Vance.
Musk can not run for president because he was born in South Africa, but former RNC chairman Michael Steele said on MSNBC (via the New York Times) that Musk has “sandwiched himself between JD Vance and the president.”
This is how things will play out in Washington. The Daily Beast called Musk the “guest who would not leave” because he has been hanging out at Mar-a-Lago a lot since Trump won the election.
He also recently joined Trump on his call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, while Vance did not.
Trump wants to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies” (via Forbes), and Musk has been chosen to lead Trump’s planned Department of Government Efficiency along with Vivek Ramaswamy.
You should count your blessings that Biden and the Senate are ONLY performing their constituational perogative to seat as many open federal judicial seats as they can in their final months. Given the new “complete executive branch immunity” ruling by the Supreme Court, a Lessor man than Biden would simply make sure all federal cases vs. Trump move expediantly as well as make sure his sentencing on his 31 felony convictions (by a jury of 12 of his peers) be done on november 22nd, as previously scheduled, as well as sic’ing his DOJ on Trump to find or even institute fake evidence in order to jail Trump before he takes office under the provision that a second Trump term would present a clear and present danger to Americas democracy and to its citizens directly. None of this would even have to be constitutional and President Biden would be legally immune for his actions, thanks to the dupreme coirt. But we KNOW he will not do ANY of this, bc naively the Democrats have unilaterally disarmed in this ideological war for the country. Maybe because only one side seems it as a War.
WTF is Trump doing? Alienating JD is wrong! Choosing someone with zero military background or knowledge to head the Navy is wrong. What is he thinking? I was all in for his prior picks. But I think he’s gone too far this time. And I want to see JD more involved with these meetings and decisions. I’m a Trump woman but now he’s beginning to piss me off.
