Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend has dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against the once-rising Hollywood star after reaching an agreement.
A joint filing made Thursday in Manhattan federal court says that the lawyers for Majors and Grace Jabbari agreed to throw out the case with prejudice.
According to Jabbari’s lawyer, the case was “favorably settled” on Friday, but he would not say more.
“Grace Jabbari has shown a lot of courage throughout this very long and hard process,” Henderson’s lawyer said in a statement. “We hope that she can finally put this chapter behind her and move forward with her head held high.”
Emails sent Friday to Majors’s representatives asking for comment were not answered.
In her March lawsuit, Jabbari said that the 35-year-old Marvel and “Creed III” star abused her physically and verbally over the course of their relationship, including assault, battery, defamation, and causing her emotional distress.
A few months after Majors was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in connection with an argument in Manhattan, the British dancer filed the suit.
A fight started in the backseat of a chauffeured car and then moved to the streets, Jabbari said. Majors hit her in the head with his open hand, twisted her arm behind her back, and squeezed her middle finger so hard that it broke.
Majors said that Jabbari had lost his temper because he was jealous and was the one who attacked. He said that Jabbari was only trying to get his phone back and get away safely.
Majors did not go to jail, but in April, a judge told him he had to finish a year-long counseling program.
After Majors was found guilty, Marvel Studios immediately fired him from the role they had cast him in as Kang the Conqueror, which was meant to be the main bad guy in the entertainment company’s movies and TV shows for years to come.
Majors met Jabbari on the set of Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” in 2021. Jabbari was a movement coach, and Majors played Kang.
Majors has slowly come back to Hollywood in the past few weeks.
His long-shelved movie “Magazine Dreams” was picked up to be shown in theaters last month.
Majors got early Oscar buzz for the bodybuilder drama, but it was taken off the market after his conviction in December.
At the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles earlier this month, Majors and fellow actor Meagan Good said they were getting married.
