LSU vs. UCLA Prediction, Game Preview, and Odds

When it was first planned, this game seemed like it could be a big battle. Now, it just looks like an easy layup for an LSU team trying to beat a Big Ten team from LA.

The Tigers have been put to the test. To start the season, they played hard but lost to USC in Las Vegas. Last week, they beat South Carolina in a thrilling game thanks to a missed field goal.

UCLA has played badly in its first two games with new coach Deshaun Foster in charge. To start, it had a hard time beating a bad Hawaii team, and in last week’s 42-13 loss to Indiana, it was not even close.

The next two games, against Oregon and Penn State, do not get any better.

Why UCLA Will Win

What does UCLA do right?It is going behind the defense.

The pass rush is good, and there were stops for loss (at least against Hawaii). There should be a little more pressure, even against the great LSU line that is doing a good job of protecting the quarterback.

Too many mistakes are making things hard for LSU. They scored ten against USC and nine against South Carolina. In general, they scored close to nine goals per game.

Even though the Tigers are not very good, UCLA’s defense should be able to handle their weak running game.

Why LSU Will Win

The attack for UCLA is not moving.

The offensive line is not making any plays, the running game is not working well, and the passing attack is not making enough intermediate throws, which makes it hard to move the chains.

LSU should be able to shoot whenever they want. When Hawaii tried to pass, UCLA’s defense was not bad, but Indiana’s Kurtis Rourke was great. He completed 76% of his passes, gained over 300 yards, and scored four touchdowns.
