Man knew his spouse was regularly beating his child for more than 1 year, even pulled the child from school when teachers reported the injuries to authorities, until the woman ultimately beat the girl to death; sentenced
Atlanta, GA – According to court documents, the 38-year-old defendant, CIedir, was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by two years probation for his role in his child’s death last year.
Prosecutors believe the father was aware that his wife, NatieIa, was regularly hitting his child but did nothing to safeguard the 8-year-old daughter, leaving her alone with the stepmother, who eventually beat her to death. Prosecutors stated that the defendant was sentenced after being convicted of second-degree cruelty to children.
The deadly incident occurred in January, when the parents called 911 to report that their child, Saira, was unresponsive. The responding officers discovered that the girl was alone with her stepmother when she suffered fatal injuries.
The infant was pronounced dead by first responders at the site. The lady asked her truck driver husband to come home. When the 38-year-old guy returned home, he reportedly began performing CPR before phoning the cops.
During the inquiry, investigators reportedly learned that the parent was aware that his spouse had been assaulting his daughter on a regular basis for more than a year, but nevertheless left the child with the mother, who eventually beat her to death.
The victim’s teacher told authorities that they reported the child’s injuries to authorities, and when investigators contacted the father, he reportedly removed the child from school and allowed the young girl to be home-schooled.
During the trial, the defendant reportedly claimed that he had no idea that his children had been hurt by spnking. His wife is facing murder, child cruelty, and other offenses and is awaiting trial. According to prosecutors, the mother seized a wooden stick and beat the youngster two dozen times in the head and neck.
