A one-month-old child has died after being bitten by the family dog in Torrance.
“They are nice.” A family friend, Faye Tohidi, said, “It is really sad that they did not pay attention to what they should have.” “It is really sad.”
Around 12:34 p.m. Tuesday, someone called the Torrance Police Department to report an animal bite on Martha Avenue. When the city’s fire service got there, they saw that the baby had been bitten.
Police say the child did not make it to the hospital and did not live. The official cause of death has not been found.
Dogs of different breeds were in the house, according to Tohidi. There was a mastiff, a pit bull mix, and another mixed breed dog.
“Even though I like dogs and have one at home, you should not bring your baby to a place where there are a lot of big dogs.” “It was wrong from the start,” she said.
Police say they have been called to the house before, but it was never for an animal or DCFS issue.
Police say that Torrance Animal Control took all of the dogs from the home. We called animal control, but have not heard back yet.
