Why Georgia Tech Will Win

North Carolina’s defence is a mess, and it is not going to get better.

It could not hold on against Duke after being blown apart by James Madison for 70 points and 611 yards. Then, last week, Pitt ripped off 520 yards with a great day from the passing game.

The pass defence has given up over 300 yards in three of the last five games, and they have been penalised and turned the ball over too many times this season.

Haynes King was only able to gain 167 yards in last week’s win over Duke, but he was accurate and did his job against the great Blue Devil defence. He is now ready to let it fly.

Take it as read that he gets off the bus with 250 yards passing and go from there.

Why North Carolina Will Win

The offence keeps going strong.

There are way too many punishments and it might not work well enough, but the O moves the chains.

It gets a lot of first downs, the running game has not been bad, and the passing attack has been great even though starter quarterback Max Johnson got hurt in the first game.

The offence will come from Georgia Tech, but the defence is 0-2 when giving up more than 210 receiving yards. If you do not count the neutral site start against Florida State in Ireland, those two losses when the pass defence fell apart were on the road.

In four of the last five games, North Carolina has thrown for more than 210 yards. The only game that was not like that was the rout of NC Central.

Georgia Tech vs North Carolina: Who Will Win

The only things Georgia Tech does wrong are turn the ball over and commit fouls. Also, the team does not give North Carolina enough breaks.

But can the Yellow Jackets really handle an offence that can turn it up? The wins came against three teams that had trouble scoring and the Georgia State squat from the Group of Five. The teams that lost were Florida State, Georgia State, VMI, and Duke.

The North Carolina defence will have another bad day, but the offence will win in a really fun and wild shootout.
