Temple could not get going under Stan Drayton, and now he is leaving as head coach with only two games left.
Veteran Everett Withers is in charge for this game and the last game of the season against North Texas. He has a team that just beat Florida Atlantic 18–15 after a tough game.
Getting through 5-7 might not seem like a big deal, but it is.
Even though UTSA wanted this season to be a rebuilding one, it has not been. But things have turned around with wins in three of the last four games, including shocking wins over Memphis and North Texas in the last two weeks.
To get into the bowl game, they almost have to win here. Next week, they have to go to Army to finish the season.

Why Temple Will Win
One of Temple’s best defensive games of the year came at an interesting time.
Most of the time, the offense has not been able to do much, but the defense has had some great moments. After beating Tulsa 20–10, it lost two games and gave up 108 points. Then, it let Florida Atlantic score with just 317 yards of offense.
UTSA has more penalty yards than any other team in the country. Their defense has also been bad.
Why UTSA Will Win
The defense at UTSA should go crazy.
Temple’s offense is not working well. It is very inefficient, there are not enough great drives, and it is hard to score 20 points. But the problem is that the run defense is almost always bad. Every once in a while, it does a great job, but mostly it just runs into a buzzsaw.
Since the beginning of the season, UTSA has scored 44 points in all three games and rushed for almost 1,700 yards. In fact, the Roadrunners’ defense is not very good. But the other team is clicking, and the Owls will not be able to keep up.
Temple vs UTSA: Who Will Win?
Tempe will play well in the first quarter, but to have a chance, it will need to start passing the ball. That is not going to work.
It will not get as hot in UTSA as it did in the last few weeks, but it will get hot for a while. Temple does not have a turnover issue, but when they press, it will be hard for them to keep the ball moving.
