Is Miami really that great?
It needed a small miracle of a call from the refs to beat Virginia Tech, and it made an epic return, helped by another call, to beat Cal 39–38. There is no sure thing in any game, but this could be the toughest one left.
Not having to deal with Clemson and not having to deal with SMU is great. Of the next four games, three are away from home. However, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse are all very strong teams.
Louisville has the skills and talent to be in the running for the ACC title, but it took a 24–20 win over Virginia last week to get back on track.
The loss to Notre Dame was not bad, but the loss to SMU at home was. After beating Miami, the Cardinals have to go on the road for their next three games and four of their last five. If they can do that, they can make a big push.

Why Miami Will Win
Miami is one of those teams now.
But Cam Ward and his team find a way. That Virginia Tech game almost got away, and the date with Cal should have been canceled. They will be sure they can pull this off if this game stays close until the end.
The first step is to have third downs. When it comes to completing third downs, Miami is the best team in the country. They do it 60% of the time, and their defense has been great at getting off the field.
Louisville is not very good at either, and their pass defense is about to give up more than 300 yards.
Why Louisville Will Win
Miami lost the ball three times to the Hokies and got stuck too early against Cal. The last few ACC games have shown that this team is not very reliable.
Tyler Shough is Louisville’s quarterback, and he can keep up with the fast-paced game. The defense is strong enough on third downs to make things hard for Ward, and the plays behind the line will stop the Cane backfield.
Let the pass rush loose in this game. There has not been as much excitement as there was last year, but there could be something really great on national TV at home, but…
Miami vs Louisville: Who Will Win
Always think Miami will lose and you will be wrong.
There are some things that this team could do better, but they have the skills to get through this. But Louisville is going to have a big day.
The game starts right away, and as it goes on, the energy will rise. This is when Jeff Brohm’s team has one of its best lines performances of the season, and Shough will just barely beat Ward.
