Head coach Mack Brown won’t be back after the end of this season following a sluggish run and a 6-5 record.
The Tar Heels will go bowling, and they had a few nice moments, but the team was way too inconsistent with a four-game midseason losing streak – including a rough loss to Duke – and now it’s more about the future than the right now.
However, UNC has a chance to do something big by beating NC State and keeping it from being bowl eligible.
A massive disappointment – Florida State takes home the honors among ACC teams in that – NC State should’ve been battling for the ACC title, instead it’s clunking along, can’t get anything out of the defense, and needs this win to get to a bowl game.

Mack Brown was not great for North Carolina football his second time with the team, but he was not terrible either, and most importantly, no one does not dislike him. The team will play their best, and the support will be great.
NC State will try harder, but they will still have problems on the offensive line and with turnovers, which is killing them this season.
But North Carolina’s great pass rush—ranked fifth in the country—will make two big stops late in the fourth quarter. The team is running well.
