When you get your Social Security check in January 2025, the 2025 COLA will start to show up. People in the United States will still get the same amount of rewards this year as they have in the past.
After this, we will have to wait a little longer before we can get one of the payments with the Social Security 2025 COLA.
At this point, we will only be able to use the check we have so far. But we will definitely know very soon how much our retirement payments will go up by.
Social Security payments before the end of the year
Some people will get checks from the Social Security Administration in October, November, and December. These checks will be for benefits that are received.
So all we have to do is look at what the rules are for each payment day and start getting these perks right away.
Remember that all benefits, no matter what kind or how much they are, get to each group on the same days. So, it does not matter if the check is for handicap or some other reason; it just needs to be accepted.
Here is the plan for the next few months:
October
- October 1: Supplemental Security Income payments for all Supplemental Security Income recipients.
- October 3: Pensioners with benefits prior to May 1997 may collect.
- October 9: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks who have a birthday between the 1st and 10th get payment on this day.
- October 16: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with birthdays between 11 and 20 receive payment on this day.
- October 23: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with birthdays between the 21st and 31st get payment this day.
November
- November 1: Supplemental Security payments for all Supplemental Security recipients.
- November 1: Retirees with a benefit prior to May 1997 are eligible for this payment.
- November 13: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks who have a birthday between the 1st and 10th collect on this day.
- November 20: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with a birthday between the 11th and 20th get payment on this day.
- November 27: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with birthdays between the 21st and 31st get payment this day.
- November 29: December Supplemental Social Security payment. This is because December 1 is a weekend.
December
- December 1: Pensioners with benefits prior to May 1997 may collect this payment.
- December 11: Retirees with a check after May 1997 who have a birthday between the 1st and the 10th collect on this day.
- December 18: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with birthdays between the 11th and 20th collect this day.
- December 24: Retirees with post-May 1997 checks with birthdays between the 21st and 31st get payment on this day.
- December 31: Complementary Social Security payment corresponding to the month of December. This is due to the fact that December 1st is a weekend.
If we set up Direct Deposit, we will get the money right away, so we will not even have to wait a day to use our Social Security check. Of course, if we do not turn on this collection choice, the money will show up a few days after the Administration sends it.
