The Social Security Administration sets up payments for people who get benefits from the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (RSDI) programs every year.
This list lets millions of people who are eligible for benefits keep track of all the dates they will get money throughout the year.
People who are retired, widowed, disabled, or on SSI should know when their last payments of 2024 will be sent to them before the end of the year. We would like to share all of this year’s payment dates with you because the calendar might be hard to read at first.
Social Security confirmed monthly benefits for November and December
The Social Security Administration is in charge of a number of projects. A lot of different programs are trying to make the lives of disabled people and other vulnerable groups better and less poor.
A short list of the benefits that come with this schedule is given below.
- Retirement program: For people who have at least ten years of work and Social Security taxes and who are 62 years of age or older.
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI): This program is available to people with long-term disabilities that prevent them from working for a year or more.
- Survivors Benefits Program: Employees who contribute to Social Security can receive a portion of their benefits upon their death, as can their surviving spouse, children, and other dependents.
- Supplemental Security Income program: SSI payments are designed to help people with limited income and resources to meet their most basic needs.
Once people have applied for the program that best meets their needs, the Social Security Administration will decide how much they will get each month and begin sending them benefits based on the following:
- If the beneficiary qualifies for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program, they will always receive their checks on the first day of the month, unless it falls on a weekend or federal holiday.
- If the beneficiary qualifies for the retirement, survivor, and disability insurance (RSDI) program and they claimed their first benefit before May 1997, their benefits will be deposited always on the third day of the month, unless it falls on a holiday or weekend.
- If the RSDI beneficiary claimed benefits after the mentioned date, they will receive benefits based on the date they were born, as detailed here:
- If they were born between the 1st and the 10th, they will get their checks on the second Wednesday
- If they were born between the 11th and the 20th, they will get their checks on the third Wednesday
- If they were born between the 21st and the 31st, they will get their checks on the fourth Wednesday
