A child was taken to a nearby hospital after an overdose was reported in St. Louis late Thursday morning.
An officer from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said that around 11:30 a.m., they were called to a home on the 6300 block of Lalite Avenue in the Walnut Park West neighborhood of North St. Louis because someone had overdosed.
Holden Kurwicki of 5 On Your Side was there when police told them the child was 3 years old.
“That breaks my heart to hear,” said friend Christen Foster. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their family. Something I would never want my worst enemy to go through.
The child was said to be critically ill but safe. The world still doesn’t know what the child took in large amounts.
“From the bottom of my heart, I pray for them,” Foster said. “I hope she gets through it.”
The SLMPD Child Abuse Unit is in charge of the investigation right now.
Foster said, “When you have a child, there’s no room for neglect.” “There’s a right way to raise them. There is no room for carelessness. “I’m sorry to say this, but a three-year-old shouldn’t be taking too much of anything.”
