People who get Social Security benefits will not get their checks until the second week of the month, so November checks are a surprise.
The SSA usually sends checks every week of the month, but there are months, like November, when the schedule changes a bit.
The regular payments for people who applied for Retirement, Survivor, and Disability Insurance (RSDI) benefits before May 1997 will be sent on Friday, November 1, instead of November 3, which is a Sunday.
Because of this change, people who get RSDI or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will now get their Social Security check on the first of every month.
When will beneficiaries receive their Social Security check in November?
As we already said, people who get SSI or RSDI will get their monthly payments on the first of the month. Every month, on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays, the Social Security Administration will make three more payments.
This is the first one. People who have applied for retirement, survivor, or disability benefits after May 1997 must be able to get these last three payments.
As long as beneficiaries meet these first requirements, they will get their new Social Security check according to the official payment schedule shown below:
- On November 1st, beneficiaries from the SSI program and RSDI recipients who claimed benefits before May 1997 will get their payments on this day.
- On November 13th (Second Wednesday), for retired workers, disabled Americans, and survivors who were born between the 1st and the 10th
- On November 20th (Third Wednesday), for retired workers, disabled Americans, and survivors who were born between the 11th and the 20th
- On November 27th (Fourth Wednesday), for retired workers, disabled Americans, and survivors who were born between the 21st and the 31st
- On November 29th (Extra payment), the second SSI payment for eligible beneficiaries
Beneficiaries will get different amounts of money each month, depending on the program they are eligible for and other factors like their income and resources.

Their full retirement age (FRA), their working history, the amount of Social Security they have paid in, and the type of disability they have.
Please look at the table below for more information on how much each program pays out right now:
Social Security check payments | Retirement benefits | Survivors benefits | Disability benefits | SSI benefits |
On average | $1,900 | $1,505 | $1,537 | $698 |
Other payments | Age 62: $2,710
Age 67: $3,822 Age 70: $4,873 |

2 Children: $3,653 |
Blind recipients: $2,590
Maximum payment: $3,822 |

It is very important to remember that people who want to get full Social Security benefits must meet all of the SSA’s requirements.
Because it can be hard to meet the requirements for these maximum payments, we suggest that you talk to a financial counselor or SSA specialist about your situation to figure out the best way to apply for these monthly checks and your financial situation.
Also, if you do not get your checks when you expect to, wait at least three mailing days before calling customer service. The delay could be because of how your bank processes payments.
