The United States’ Social Security payment schedule sticks to rules and times that have already been set. Payments are given out each year based on the group to which the beneficiaries belong.
The month of birth of each retiree is the main factor used to identify the group. On time payments are made every two weeks, which makes sure that all seniors get their checks on time.
Some retirees will not get any extra money until November, even though October is already here. These are people in Groups 1, 2, and 3. There are certain things about each group that decide when they get their checks and what they need to do with them.
Groups that do not get additional payments in October
People who are retired in groups 1, 2, and 3 will not get any extra money in October. For the next few months, these groups will get their money on certain times. Here are the things that each group needs to do:
Group 1: People who retired before May 1997 and got an income.
To be eligible, you must have started getting the salary before that date.
Group 2: People who turned 65 after May 1997 and whose birthday is between October 1st and October 10th.
You must have started getting the pension after May 1997 and your birthday falls on one of these dates.
Group 3: People who started getting an income after May 1997 and whose birthday is between October 11th and October 20th.
You must have been getting the pension since May 1997 and your birthday falls on one of these dates each month.

It is important to remember that Social Security has a strict plan to make sure that all retirees get their payments on time and in the right order, even though these groups will not get payments in October.
Who gets the last payment in October?
The last payment for October will be due on October 23rd. Folks whose birthday is between October 21st and October 31st are in Group 4 and will get this payment. The due date for this group’s payment is the last day of the month.
Group 4 retirees must do certain things in order to get their money, such as:
- Requirement 1: Be a pensioner with a pension after May 1997.
- Requirement 2: Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of October.
This is the last payment, which will be made in October. The amount may be different for each retiree, but the average payment is thought to be around $1,800, based on the number of years they contributed and other factors that are unique to each beneficiary.
Still, the biggest payment will be $4,873 until the end of 2024. The 2025 COLA will start in January.
