Donald Trump has promised “HELL TO PAY” in the Middle East if Hamas hostages in Gaza are not released by his January 20, 2025 inauguration.
Trump said on Truth Social on Monday afternoon that “those who committed these atrocities against humanity” would be punished.
He said that “responsible will be hit harder than anyone has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America.” FREE THE HOSTAGES RIGHT NOW!”
What Trump said happened after Hamas released a video saying that 33 of its prisoners had been killed in Israel’s brutal war on Gaza, which began in October of last year when Hamas attacked Israel and held more than 250 hostages, according to Israeli counts. Its war on Gaza has killed over 44,000 people, including 17,492 children.
Last month, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister and suspected war criminal, is said to have promised Trump that Israel and Hezbollah would stop fighting in Lebanon before Trump’s inauguration. Last week, a ceasefire was reached with help from the U.S., but it is already beginning to fall apart.
Now, Trump seems to want the hostages to be freed before he takes office, but he did not say that a ceasefire in Gaza was necessary first.
The president-elect said that Israel should “finish the job” in Gaza, which means that he supports the country’s year-long campaign that has caused a humanitarian crisis and charges of war crimes.
The latest things Trump said make me wonder what “hell to pay” would mean for Gaza, whose buildings and infrastructure are wrecked.
Doe Trump mean to say that the U.S. will launch airstrikes in the Middle East against Hamas’ allies in Syria, Iran, and Lebanon? It is likely that would start the war in the region that Trump says he does not want.
