It has been confirmed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that veterans will not be getting a stimulus check in 2024. As a result of a new COLA adjustment, veterans who are eligible got a 3.2% increase in their monthly benefits on January 1.
The VA website says that this change could affect some of the benefits that veterans get, like the clothing allowance, disability payments, and payments for spouses and children who depend on them and need help.
In the past few months, false information has been going around about new stimulus checks for veterans.
Will veterans receive a stimulus check?
During the pandemic, the US government sent three rounds of stimulus checks to people to help them with their money problems. People with low and middle incomes were supposed to get payments from the IRS.
These payments helped them pay for things like housing, food, and medical bills.
A lot of people are grateful for stimulus checks and disability payments for US veterans, but sometimes they are not enough.
Making the claim that the VA will help veterans is definitely not true. Veterans are getting new benefits, though they may be limited in some ways.
