We know who the ten best teams in college football are – at least, we know about 15 teams that belong in the top ten. The problem is justifying the picks.
It’s too easy – and lazy – just to say a team should be ranked higher than another based on record. Yeah, Ole Miss lost three games, and just dropped a date to Florida. It also beat Georgia. Georgia was fantastic at Texas.
Alabama was trash against Oklahoma, but beat Georgia, and on and on and on. We’ll give full credit in the final rankings for the overall bodies of work, just like we respect the results to start the season.
For now, are Penn State and Texas both two of the four best teams in college football? Have you really watched them?
Indiana doesn’t get punished for losing at Ohio State – especially compared to other big losses, Ole Miss sticks around the top ten, Tennessee gets a break and moves up, and as you can imagine, the SEC and Big Ten own most of the top team in the Week 14 CFN Rankings.
