The December payment schedule for people who get Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is now available. These dates should be known by everyone who depends on SSDI to pay for their basic needs.
Here’s what you need to know to keep track of your next month’s benefits.
Keep in mind that the Social Security Administration (SSA) follows a staggered schedule to make sure that resources are distributed smoothly. Your day of birth determines which schedule you are on.
When will SSDI payments arrive in December?
In this last month of 2024, SSDI payments will arrive on these dates. Please take note:
- December 11: If your birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th
- December 18: if you were born between the 11th and the 20th
- December 24: For those born between the 21st and 31st
If your payment does not arrive on the dates they say it will, the SSA says you should wait three business days before filing a claim. To make sure your deposit went through, you should keep an eye on your bank account.
You should also call your bank to make sure there are no issues on their end. If this is true, the Social Security Office in your area can give you more information.
What is SSDI?
SSDI is a lifeline for 7.8 million Americans who depend on it to pay their monthly bills because of their work history. Direct deposit is used to send payments to people with disabilities, which help cover living costs like food, housing, and medical bills.
