Which group can get it back faster?

It is more like whether or not things can get going for Wisconsin.

The Badgers have had a rough start. They played badly in wins over Western Michigan and South Dakota, and they are not even close to being ready for Alabama.

Michigan stomped USC in a 27-24 battle, and they lost. The team needs a great game before going on the road to play Minnesota and then Penn State. That is not the end of the world; the schedule is not that bad.

Out of all the games, USC has won six and lost one. The most recent game was a wild 23-21 win for the Badgers in the Holiday Bowl in 2015. Since 1966, that was the only time they got together.

Why Wisconsin Will Win

Just be honest, Wisconsin. You still know how to run the ball well, right?

As of now, the Badger rushing approach has worked well. It worked at times against Western Michigan and South Dakota, and running the ball 41 times against Alabama is pretty amazing, but the place that became famous for strong offensive lines and tough ground attacks has not been able to make its case.

Even though the new and better USC defense has a lot of good points, the run defense is still just okay.

The Tigers ran well until they stopped passing the ball. Utah State then slowed down and started throwing, and Michigan ran 46 times for 290 yards and three scores.

Drip, drip, drip, drip… flood. Michigan kept going, and it all worked out in the end. It is not that Wisconsin is not running; in all three games, they had over 40 runs. But they need to get better at it.

That could work this week. But…

Why USC Will Win

These Badgers do not have any “there, there.”

There is no passing game, and Miami transfer Tyler Van Dyke is out with a torn ACL. The running game, on the other hand, is not a problem.

It does not work when Wisconsin tries to dink and dunk.

There is no need for USC to do anything crazy here. Keep doing what works, like having a good field position, stopping the other team on third down, and giving Miller Moss time to work.

Even though that was not really there against Michigan, he still threw three touchdowns and 283 yards. He will be a little tired after Wisconsin, but he will be better this week.

Wisconsin vs USC: Who Will Win

When the Badgers go to Los Angeles, it will be another exciting Big Ten game. The crowd mix will be amazing, but by the middle of the second quarter, the Trojans will own this field and the game.

These are the first two good drives that Wisconsin will make. After those, USC will take over. Things will get better for the Trojans fast.
